In Trinamool vs Trinamool, Rebel Claims 59 MLAs’ Support For Key Assembly Post

Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool, it appears, is coming apart at the seams.

Trinamool MLA Ritabrata Banerjee, a day his expulsion from the party, arrived at the state Assembly, claiming he has the support of 59 MLAs.

He is pitching himself as the Leader of the Opposition, brandishing the letters of support to make his case. 

Among those who accompanied him to the assembly are Arup Roy, Shiuli Saha, and Akhruzzaman. 

“Today, we will hold a meeting to select the Leader of the Opposition,” Sabina Yasmin, a legislator from north Bengal, said.
