Telugu tutor rapes 14-year-old student for several weeks on pretext of marriage

A Telugu tutor in Telangana lured a 14-year-old student on the promise of marriage and allegedly raped her for several weeks.

Hyderabad: A man in the Mahabubnagar district of Telangana allegedly raped a minor girl for several weeks after luring her on the pretext of marriage. The accused works as a Telugu teacher at a private school. Reportedly, the accused had been taking online classes of the minor since last year.

The accused has been identified as Mahesh. The 14-year-old girl’s friends introduced Mahesh to her as a Telugu teacher, who also took online tuition classes.

Accused proposed to teen
The girl, who had been looking for an online tutor, decided to take Telugu tuitions from Mahesh. The accused and the teenager started talking to each other on the phone several hours after the classes ended.

The teenager said, “I had started developing feelings for him, and one fine day he proposed to me. ” According to the girl, the two started meeting in person and the accused used to take her to different locations in the city. The teen alleged that during these meetings, the accused “physically violated” her.

Teen accused eloped to Hyderabad
The survivor said, “One day with the help of Mahesh’s friend we eloped to Hyderabad. Over there he booked a hotel room for me. He never used to stay with me. He would come once in a day and sexually violate me. ” The teenager alleged that the accused argued with her whenever she raised the topic of marriage. Eventually, the accused told the teen that he couldn’t marry her as he loved someone else.

The 14-year-old girl said that she escaped from Hyderabad and returned to her family after she realized the true intentions of the accused. The police lodged a complaint under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC). An official said, “Mahesh might have cheated and physically exploited several other minors. “
