Supreme Hospital saves life of 72 year old by conducting coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery

The CABG surgery was done successfully on a 72 year old patient with left main and triple vessel disease, which is classified as complex coronary artery disease

Faridabad: A 72-year-old male, a resident of Gurugram visited Supreme hospital complaining about chest pain, anxiety & breathlessness.

“Patient’s Angiography was done, in which we found that his 3 arteries were blocked. It was a critical situation as time was running from our hands. “- Dr. Bikram Kesharee Mohanty

The patient was rushed to the operation theater where he underwent coronary angiography, which revealed severe left main and three-vessel disease coronary artery disease. The patient also had emphysema.

The patient is currently in the cardiac surgery intensive care and recovering well.

The CABG surgery was performed by senior cardiac surgeon Dr Bikram Mohanty and his team.

Dr. Mohanty has 3 decades of experience in cardiac surgery.

The attending cardiologist is Dr. Deepak Natarajan, director of cardiology.

Commenting on the CABG surgery Dr. Bikram Mohanty said, “ We are thrilled with our surgery result, especially because the patient had extensive coronary artery disease along with emphysema. The response of the patient has been excellent. Remarkably, the patient is a non-smoker, hence both the coronary artery disease and emphysema could be due to Delhi’s air pollution.”
