Bengaluru: Woman gives birth to baby in toilet, throws it out of hospital’s window with boyfriend’s help

Bengaluru police said they are waiting for the post-mortem report and will take action based on the report.

Bengaluru: In a shocking incident reported from Karnataka capital Bengaluru, a couple threw their newborn child out of the hospital window claiming it was stillborn.

Meanwhile, police said the couple, a 22-year-old woman and her boyfriend, will be booked for murder if the autopsy report indicates that the baby died of post-natal injuries. The incident took place at a hospital at TB Cross on Hesaraghatta Main Road in Bengaluru.

Police said the male baby’s body was found in a pool of blood at Chaitanya Hospital on August 2, according to a report in Bangalore Mirror.

The body was discovered by a doctor who reported the matter to his senior Dr P Narasimhaih. Initially, the hospital authorities thought the baby was brought from somewhere and dumped at the medical facility.

Later, police were informed and soon the cops started questioning the people. The police came to know the baby’s parents visited the hospital on August 1 complaining about stomach ache and bleeding.

Police also learnt that the woman delivered the baby in the toilet of the hospital room where she was admitted. Claiming the baby was stillborn, the couple then allegedly threw the baby out of the toilet window in an attempt to get rid of child.

Later, the woman returned to her room telling the nurse she was fine and left the hospital with her boyfriend. The police finally traced the couple who told police they were in love and yet to get married.

According to police, the parents of the couple were not aware of the girl’s pregnancy and they decided to hide it from them. Police are now waiting for the post-mortem report of the child and will take further action based on it.
