Bengaluru: Man bludgeons wife to death after she refuses to cook chicken fry

The accused told the police that he smashed his wife's head with a wooden log, leading to injuries that resulted in her death.

Bengaluru: A 30-year-old businessman in Karnataka’s Bengaluru allegedly battered his 28-year-old wife to death with a wooden log, reportedly after she turned down his demand to make chicken fry for him.

As per reports, Shirin Banu (28), a mother of three children, was reported missing since August 18 night. Her parents had lodged a missing complaint with the police. Subsequently, the police sprang up in action to find the missing woman. The cops interrogated the woman’s family members.

The police intensified their investigation when the missing woman’s husband, identified as Mubarak Pasha, tried to avoid them. On Monday, Pasha, along with his lawyer, arrived at the police station and confessed that he had killed his wife and dumped her body in Chikkabanavara Lake.

“I told her to cook chicken fry on August 18 night. When I came home, I was disappointed to see there was no chicken fry. When I asked my wife, she replied arrogantly and, in a fit of rage, I smashed her head using a wooden log. The children were asleep then. Wrapping the body in a gunny bag, I carried it o my bike at midnight and disposed it of in Chikkabanavara lake,” as the accused said.

The accused has been arrested under relevant sections. The victim’s body is yet to be recovered from the waterbody.

In another incident, a 25-year-old woman in Tamil Nadu’s Kizhathuval killed her father-in-law by poisoning his food, reportedly after he sexually harassed her.

The accused, identified as Kanimozhi, got married to the Vinobharajan four years ago. Vinobharajan’s father Murugesan allegedly sexually harassed Kanimozhi when she was alone in the house. On July 31, she mixed rat poison in food and then gave it to her Murugesan. After consuming the poisoned food, Murugesan complained of stomachache, following which he was rushed to a hospital, where he died on August 1. Following this, his final rites were performed.

Later, Kanimozhi – who got severely depressed — confessed before the village administrative officer (VDO), Harikrishnan that she had poisoned Murugesan. Harikrishnan then alerted the police about the crime. Subsequently, the police arrested Kanimozhi.
