Police Detain Three Kashmiris In Probe Into Pulwama Link Of Car Used In Deadly Delhi Blast
As the chilling Pulwama connection has emerged in the horrific Delhi blast case, it has been learnt that three people have been detained from Kashmir as the probe intensified. According to the sources, the three people held — Tariq Ahmad, Amir Rashid and Umar Rashid — have a Pulwama connection.
Meanwhile, the police have also detained the mother and two brothers of Dr Umar U Nabi, who is believed to be the suicide bomber of the blast that claimed the lives of eight innocent people outside Red Fort, for questioning. Dr Umar is also believed to be from Pulwama.
The people picked by the police in connection to the 10/11 blast in Delhi:
- Tariq Ahmad
- Amir Rashid
- Umar Rashid
- Shamima Bano, mother of Dr Umar
- Ashiq Nabi, brother of Dr Umar
- Zahoor Nabi, brother of Dr Umar
At least eight people were killed and several others injured on Monday evening after a Hyundai i20 car exploded near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi.
The Brother’s connection
According to sources, Amir and Umar Rashid are brothers, who worked as a plumber and an electrician, respectively.
According to various reports, the car was first sold to an individual named Amir, then passed to Tariq, and finally to Umar. It is suspected that Amir knew Tariq and was in contact with him. Amir had been using Tariq’s phone number.
Investigations into the Red Fort blast revealed that the car was owned by Dr Umar from Pulwama, allegedly part of the module earlier busted by J&K and Haryana police with 2,900 kg of explosives. Tariq, now detained, claimed he bought the car for Aamir, who later gave it to Dr Umar.
Dr Umar, from Pulwama, completed his MBBS at Government Medical College, Srinagar. He worked as a Senior Resident at GMC Anantnag before moving to Delhi, where he is currently an Assistant Professor at Alfalah, Faridabad.
