
SSC MTS And Havildar Exam 2026 Cancelled Across Multiple Centres In UP, Bihar
The SSC MTS and Havildar Recruitment Examination 2026 has been cancelled at multiple centres across various states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Karnataka, due to technical and administrative issues. Reports suggest that disruptions occurred during the first shift of the exam, scheduled for February 11, leading the commission to issue a notice and cancel the exam.
In Uttar Pradesh, the cancellations affected centres in Jhansi, Prayagraj, and Gorakhpur. In Karnataka, the exam was cancelled in Mysore and Kaliburagi. Meanwhile, in Bihar, technical glitches at some centres resulted in students returning home without taking the exam.
Specific centres in Uttar Pradesh faced cancellations on different dates at Sanskar Academy and LM Public School in Jhansi, Kendriya Sadan in Prayagraj, and Shifa Online Centre in Gorakhpur. In Karnataka, the February 11 first shift exam was cancelled at Aditya Tech Park and Chandana Resource Centre in Mysore, as well as Minds Solve and Shetty Institute of Technology in Kaliburagi. Certain centres in Bihar also faced cancellations due to technical issues.
The Staff Selection Commission has announced new exam dates. The exams in Jhansi and Gorakhpur, cancelled on February 4, 5, or 6, will now take place on February 13. New dates for the February 11 cancellations at other centres will be announced soon on the regional website.
The official notice states that the recruitment drive aims to fill 7,948 vacancies, including 6,078 posts for MTS (18–25 years), 732 posts for MTS (18–27 years), and 1,138 positions for Havildar in CBIC and CBN units.
Of the total vacancies, 3,679 are unreserved, 1,973 are allocated to OBC, 859 to SC, 621 to ST, and 816 to EWS categories. Additionally, 310 vacancies are for PwD categories, and 731 are reserved for ex-servicemen.
The MTS recruitment enables various central government departments to hire individuals for roles such as peon, chowkidar, jamadar, gardener, gatekeeper, etc. The recruitment drive also includes positions for havildar in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs and the Central Narcotics Bureau.
