Man stabbed to death in Delhi’s Kishangarh; 1 held
A 26-year-old man was stabbed to death in Delhi’s Kishangarh area early on Tuesday morning following an argument with his partner’s friend, the police said. The accused was arrested later.
According to the police, around 1.12 am on Tuesday, a police control room call regarding a medical emergency was received at Kishangarh police station from Mansaram Chowk in Munirka village, reporting that a man had sustained a head injury and was bleeding.
“Upon reaching the spot, it was found that he had already been rushed to the hospital and had been declared dead,” Amit Goel, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West), said.
According to the police, the accused, Lalhriatpuia, 23, who hails from Mizoram, allegedly consumed alcohol with the deceased, Parkash, on Monday night. The duo then went to pick Parkash’s partner from the Anupam area. They went to Parkash’s place in Munirka, where Parkash and his partner, who also hails from Mizoram and works in a spa, allegedly argued.
“An altercation took place between Parkash and the girl during which he allegedly assaulted her. When Lalhriatpuia tried to intervene, he too was physically assaulted by Parkash,” DCP Goel said. “The girl then went to the terrace briefly, and upon her return after around 10 minutes, she found Parkash bleeding from the neck while the accused was attempting to stop the bleeding using a towel,” he added.
Lalhriatpuia then rushed Parkash to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
Lalhriatpuia was arrested on Tuesday, with the police saying that there were injury marks on his neck and chest that proved he had an altercation with Parkash. Lalhriatpuia is a divorced man with a four-year-old son and has been living in Delhi for the past four months, the police added.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police crime data shows that 107 cases of murder were reported between January 1 and March 31 in 2025, a slight uptick from 105 in 2024 during the same period, but lower than 2023, when it was 115.
