Gurugram To Noida In Just 38 Minutes: Rapid Rail Corridor Plan Proposes 6 Stations

In efforts to make faster, easier, and more feasible travel between Gurugram and Noida, the NCR Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is planning to establish a rapid rail corridor. This corridor will extend from Gurugram’s IFFCO Chowk to Surajpur in Greater Noida and will entirely bypass Delhi.

The rail stretch will support the Centre’s long-term strategy to connect IGI Airport in Delhi with the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar via high-speed rail.

For this, the authorities have submitted a detailed project report (DPR) to the Haryana government. According to the draft report, the corridor will pass through Sector 54, enter Faridabad at Bata Chowk, move via the Sector 85-86 intersection towards Noida sectors 142/168, and finally terminate at Surajpur.

The six-station route project is estimated to cost around Rs 15,000 crore and will be the third Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) corridor in Haryana, as per a report.

The other two corridors—Delhi-Gurgaon-Manesar-Bawal and Delhi-Panipat-Karnal—have already received approval from the Public Investment Board and are awaiting final clearance from the Union Cabinet.

RRTS in Jewar
The Centre and Uttar Pradesh government are also considering an RRTS corridor either from Sarai Kale Khan to Jewar or from Ghaziabad to Jewar. The routes might be adjusted as per the feasibility test results.

The Gurgaon-Noida corridor will link with the Delhi-Bawal corridor at IFFCO Chowk, while Surajpur is planned as a station on the Ghaziabad-Jewar corridor.

It has been learnt that the travel time from IFFCO Chowk to Faridabad will take just 22 minutes, and to Noida, 38 minutes. This corridor is expected to ease the pressure on Delhi’s transport network and transform commuting across the NCR.

While NCRTC has proposed an elevated line, the Haryana government has suggested building it underground within Gurgaon, due to high land costs and dense urban development.
