Former Cricketer Suresh Raina To Appear Before ED In Illegal Betting App Money Laundering Case
Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday and is expected to appear before the probe agency for questioning in an alleged illegal betting app-linked money laundering case.
Once he appears before the federal probe agency, it is expected to record his statements under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The 38-year-old former all-rounder who played as a middle-order batsman for India and a spinner was asked to depose before the agency on August 13 for questioning in an illegal betting case linked to an app named 1xBet, a report by a news agency said.

Enforcement Directorate officials questioned Tollywood actor Rana Daggubati for nearly four hours on Monday in connection with the alleged promotion of illegal betting apps. Rana left the ED’s regional office at Basheerbagh, Hyderabad, around 3pm, according to a report by the Newsminute.
Last week, actor Vijay Deverakonda appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the endorsements linked to illegal betting platforms. He told the media after appearing before the probe agency that he wasn’t involved in anything illegal and argued that gaming apps and illegal betting apps are different and therefore, one must not confuse them. He further claimed that the apps he was endorsing are “completely legal” and licensed by the government.
