CJP protest in Delhi: CCTV, barricades, body-worn cameras – police tighten security at Jantar Mantar

Heavy security arrangements have been made across Delhi on Saturday as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) prepares to hold its second protest at Jantar Mantar. Police have deployed additional personnel, installed surveillance systems and put crowd-control measures in place to ensure the demonstration remains peaceful.

The protest, led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, is scheduled to begin at 1 pm. Supporters are expected to arrive from different parts of Delhi as well as neighbouring states. According to officials, the protest has been granted permission by the authorities, PTI reported.

To closely monitor the gathering, CCTV cameras have been installed in and around Jantar Mantar. Around 270 police personnel equipped with body-worn cameras have also been deployed to record events and maintain transparency during the protest. Delhi Police videographers have been stationed at the venue to document the demonstration and monitor any developments.

Security has been tightened across central Delhi, with multiple layers of barricades placed around Jantar Mantar and nearby roads. Police are checking vehicles at major entry and exit points in the city as a precaution. Senior Delhi Police officers have been assigned field duties to supervise the arrangements, while reserve forces remain on standby to deal with any emergency.

A senior police officer said adequate security arrangements have been made and appealed to protesters to maintain peace and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.

Officials said the Delhi Police Special Branch is also monitoring the protest and keeping a close watch on related social media activity. Security has been increased at key locations, including the Indira Gandhi International Airport, railway stations, inter-state bus terminals and Delhi’s border points. Traffic diversions may be introduced in parts of central Delhi depending on the size of the gathering, although Metro services are expected to run as usual.

The CJP first came into the spotlight as a satirical online campaign after remarks made by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant during a court hearing last month. It has since evolved into an organised protest platform and gained significant attention on social media. On June 15, Dipke was allegedly slapped multiple times and manhandled during a protest in Jaipur while being carried on the shoulders of his supporters.
