Delhi Woman Hits Accelerator, Smashes Thar Through Showroom Soon After Buying It

A major drama unfolded at a Mahindra showroom in East Delhi’s Preet Vihar on Monday after a woman accidentally drove a Thar through a glass wall of the showroom right after she purchased the four-wheeler.

According to a news agency, no one was hurt in the incident, and multiple reports claimed the woman drove the four-wheeler out of the first floor of the showroom.

According to the details, the woman accidentally pressed the accelerator while conducting a pooja (a religious ritual) after buying the vehicle on Monday evening, quoted an officer as saying.

“The owner accidentally pressed the accelerator, causing the car to break through the glass wall of the showroom and fall to the ground. A motorcycle was also damaged,” he said.

A video of the crash’s aftermath showed the upturned car on the road below the showroom.

Another video also showed chaos on the street after the accident.

The woman was identified as 29-year-old Maani Pawar, and the ritual she intended to perform before taking the car home involved crushing a lemon under the car’s tyre.

However, as she accidentally pushed the accelerator, the vehicle flew out of the showroom’s first floor.

At the time of the incident, a showroom employee, identified as Vikas, was seated on the passenger’s side.

As the car flew out of the store, it landed on the pavement.

The airbags opened immediately, and the victims were rushed to the nearby Malik Hospital. The two were discharged after first aid, the report claimed.

No complaint was registered in this regard.
